How To Locate A FortiAnalyzer Device Image For Upgrade Or Reinstallation On The Support Portal

Description

This article explains how to find the required files for a FortiAnalyzer or FortiManager device or virtual machine.

Scope

FortiAnalyzer/FortiManager VMs or physical appliances.

Solution

Pre-requisite:

Identify the required target version and upgrade path for the FortiAnalyzer.

2. Identify the platform type of the FortiAnalyzer using either the GUI or CLI.

From the GUI, navigate to System Settings → Dashboard → System Information widget.

From CLI:

FAZ # get system status

Steps: In this example, a FortiAnalyzer VM with target version 7.4.3 is used as a reference.

Log in to the Fortinet Support Portal using an active account.

3. Identify the FortiAnalyzer section in the product list by navigating to Asset Management → Products → Product List in the Fortinet Support Portal.

4. After verifying the asset, proceed to the software download section in the Fortinet Support Portal by navigating to Support → Firmware Download.

5. Select the product (FortiAnalyzer) and the ‘Download’ option.

6. Select the folder corresponding to the base version (for example, v7.00) in the Fortinet Support Portal.

7. Continue navigating through the folders until the required firmware version is reached in the Fortinet Support Portal.

Note: The folder structure is organized in nested version levels.

8. When the correct directory is reached and all files are displayed in the Fortinet Support Portal, identify the file that matches the product type, such as a VM image in this case. Use the search bar to quickly locate the required image.

9. After locating the required file in the Fortinet Support Portal, download it by selecting the HTTPS option.

Note: In this section, both files may appear similar. Use only the *.out file for upgrade purposes in FortiAnalyzer. The *.out.ovf.zip file is typically used for deploying or mounting the full image in a VM hypervisor. For physical devices, select the appropriate file based on the FortiAnalyzer model/series.

Note:

If the firmware is still not visible, verify that the support contract for FortiAnalyzer is active, as access to firmware downloads may be restricted based on valid support entitlement.
